Last Monday, May 6th, one of the most anticipated events of the year, if not the most anticipated, took place - the Met Gala.

This year's theme was “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion”, which translates as “Sleeping Beauties: The Awakening of Fashion”. Divided into three main zones — land, sea and sky — the collection featured rare items from great designers, such as Schiaparelli, Dior and Givenchy.
The dress code was "the garden of time", inspired by JG Ballard's 1962 short story. Which justifies many of the floral looks.

In this article we want to tell you a little about them.

Gigi Hadid stunned in a stunning Thom Browne dress. The ivory design, embellished with rose embroidery, perfectly reflected the theme of the event. The dress's voluminous skirt was so large that it needed a team to help carry it. Later, Gigi removed the heavy skirt, revealing an elegant off-the-shoulder column-style bodice. She completed her look with diamond jewelry, shoes in pale yellow and white tones, and glamorous makeup with an emphasis on red lips.

Demi Lovato returned to the Met Gala, wearing an elegant dress designed by Prabal Gurung. The singer opted for a strapless white dress with matching opera gloves, made entirely by hand and adorned with more than 500 mirrored mylar flowers and crystals. The dress reflects the theme of the event, highlighting a mix of strength and fragility, something the singer feels also represents her own evolution and duality as an artist.

Nicki Minaj stood out in a short dress designed by Francesco Risso for Marni. The dress, a miniature floral sculpture with an hourglass silhouette, was made of hand-painted gold duchesse silk and adorned with three-dimensional metallic flowers also painted in vivid tones. Complemented by floral shoes and dazzling jewelry, Nicki Minaj resembled a couture bouquet.

Bad Bunny appeared at the Met Gala in a custom Maison Margiela suit, inspired by the Renaissance, in navy blue with white lines that resembled stripes. She completed her look with a floral bouquet made from the same material as her coat, representing a combination of roses, Flor de Maga (the national flower of Puerto Rico), and the flax plant, a reference to the Metropolitan Museum of Art's new exhibition, " Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion", which explores iconic pieces spanning four centuries.

Sydney Sweeney surprised at the 2024 Met Gala by swapping her familiar blonde hair for a short black wig in the style of Joan Jett, with short straight bangs. The actress wore a diaphanous sky blue tulle dress by Miu Miu and opera-length leather gloves. The hair was prepped with products from Kerastase's Premiere collection, ensuring it was nourished under the wig. The classic, springtime look of the dress was balanced with the bold cut of the wig and fitted gloves, creating an impactful and elegant appearance.

Zendaya, one of the hosts of the event, walked the red carpet at the Met Gala in a stunning Givenchy Victorian couture dress, created by John Galliano for the 1996 summer collection. To give that extra touch, the actress chose a hat from Alexander McQueen's 2007 summer collection, which stood out for being richly adorned with flowers. This elegant, floral ensemble highlighted Zendaya's strong presence at the event.
